Jesus and the Sabbath

We looked at this passage last week, with an emphasis on Jesus healing this man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. It was a miraculous act of power and kindness on our Lord’s part. And we followed as the man went to the Temple and praised God.

What we didn’t look at last week was the controversy that ensued as a result of that- it was just too much for one sermon. And so today, we’re going to focus on this controversy between Jesus and the religious leaders concerning the Sabbath, and more importantly, we’re going to try to understand how the Sabbath is intended to be a tremendous blessing to the Christian life.
