Dying to See Jesus

“Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” These words came from some Greeks during Passover week, approaching Philip with a request that speaks for every hungry soul. But when Jesus hears their request, He doesn’t sit down for a friendly Q&A or offer a miracle. He points them to the cross. 

In this pivotal passage, Jesus reveals that true discipleship always leads to the cross. To follow Him, we must be willing to lose our lives in this world to gain life in Him. This is the glory of the Christian life: death that leads to life, loss that leads to fruit, and surrender that leads to everlasting joy.
