Has God subdued you so that when you come to His Word, you don’t fight it, you don’t come up with ways to explain it away, but you submit to it? It's important to emphasize that whenever we're looking at the Bible, whenever particularly we're dealing with any difficult teaching in the word of God, whether the subject is God's sovereignty and salvation, whether the subject is the Trinity, the biblical ordering of gender roles in the church, or practically any other disputed matter or difficult matter, the key issue is “Are we willing to humbly sit before the Bible and say, ‘speak, Lord, Your servant is listening.’
