Knowing Christ

John’s goal is not merely that we would know information about Him. John’s goal is that we would actually know Him.

And though you and I cannot see Him in the flesh, we very much can know Him. We can know Him- truly we can know Him more intimately than we know our own spouse. That’s His design and His desire for His people: that we would not just know about Him but to really know Him.

And so John’s goal was that people would know Jesus Christ with deepest intimacy. That’s why he wrote this little book the way he did.
