Faith Tested; Glory Revealed

When you find that your faith is weak, when it’s not meeting the demands of life in a world that is constantly assaulting you, the answer isn’t “girl wash your face.” The answer is to lift the gaze of your heart upon Him who died for you.

Even during tests, even during trials, you can be radiant with the joy and life and love and goodness of God, as you gaze upon the glory of Jesus. And the more you do, the easier it becomes to trust God in the tests. You cannot simultaneously despair over your circumstances and at the same time have your eyes fixed upon Jesus.

So the cure, the greatest need we have, is to gaze upon Him as He truly is. It uplifts us from despair, it encourages us as we wade through the muck of life, it assures us of His strength in our weakness, hope amid hopelessness, and it gives us soul-permeating joy even in the deepest of sorrows.
