A Life Changing Encounter with Jesus

If you know much about the history between the Jews and the Samaritans, you know it was a 700 year history with a lot of bad blood. The Jews and Samaritans knew their history, and it was not good. Theological and racial differences, as well as some bad confrontations in history, meant that any time a Jew even heard the word “Samaritan”, they automatically turned up their lip and had nothing nice to say.

But here we see how different the heart of our Lord is, as He engages with this woman, this Samaritan woman, this Samaritan woman with a scandalous past, and rather than showing disdain, He shows her grace.
