Often entering a new church is slow and difficult. You feel like the outsider and the new-comer, and it seems easiest to remain in that place. But our desire is the opposite for you! We want you to know the love of God more fully by knowing the love of the church and being a part of the church loving others. This is hard if you don’t feel known and don’t feel like you know anyone else. Let’s change that!
There are a number of ways to get to know First Scots better and to allow the First Scots family to know you better too:
Sunday Morning Worship and Sunday School–This is the most natural way to know others and be known. Come for coffee fellowship, Sunday School, and Worship and invest time Sunday morning in this church family. There are classes for Adults and Children, and all are welcome in worship. CLICK HEREfor what to expect Sunday Mornings.
Wednesday Nights–Every Wednesday night we meet for a time of singing, prayer, and fellowship. Children and Adults are all invited, because Wednesday night is an evening for every age in the church. CLICK HERE for more details about Wednesday Nights.
Bible Studies–We have wonderful regular opportunities to know and be known through our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies. The Men’s Study meets weekly while the Women’s Study meets monthly. For more information, Click HERE for the Men’s Study and HERE for the Women’s Study.
Inquirer’s Classes–Every couple months Pastor Alex leads a 2-week class in which he outlines more fully what First Scots is all about; beliefs, ministries, and what it looks like to be a member of this church. This is a requirement before membership, but going through the class does not obligate you to join. If you are interested, email the church office for more information about the next class: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meet the Pastor–First Scots is not a church where the congregation does not know their pastor personally. If Alex has not met you yet, make sure you see him after worship this Sunday! He will be the one at the end of the walkway smiling and saying hello to everyone. Alex desires to know you so that he can better care for you, so he invites you to contact him and set up a lunch, breakfast, coffee, or phone call: email@example.com .
E-Newsletter–This is probably the easiest way to stay informed as there are weekly updates on ministry, news on events, worship details and more. Sign up at the bottom of this page.
Part of our natural desire as people is to know others and feel known ourselves, and though this is our desire it can be difficult. Please invest yourself in the church, for it is through these relationships that we grow in Christ and grow in our love for one another. We hope you come and be known and discover God’s love and grace in a deeper way with us.
