Often entering a new church is slow and difficult. You can feel like the outsider and the new-comer, and it seems easiest to remain in that place. But our desire is the opposite for you! We want you to know the love of God more fully by knowing the love of the church and being a part of the church loving others. This is hard if you don’t feel known and don’t feel like you know anyone else. Let’s change that!
There are a number of ways to get to know First Scots better and to allow the First Scots family to know you:
Sunday Morning Worship and Sunday School
This is the most natural way to know others and be known. Come for coffee, fellowship, Sunday School, and Worship and invest time on Sunday mornings in this church family. There are classes for adults and children, and all are welcome in worship. Click here for what to expect Sunday Mornings.
We have wonderful regular opportunities to know and be known through our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies. Click here for the Men’s Study and here for the Women’s Study.
Every couple of months Pastor Mark leads a 2-week class in which he outlines more fully what First Scots is all about: beliefs, ministries, and what it looks like to be a member of this church. This is a requirement before membership, but going through the class does not obligate you to join. If you are interested, email the church office for more information about the next class: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meet the Pastor
First Scots is not a church where the congregation does not know their pastor personally. If Alex has not met you yet, make sure you see him after worship this Sunday! Alex desires to know you so that he can better care for you. He invites you to contact him and set up a lunch, breakfast, coffee, or phone call: email@example.com.
This is probably the easiest way to stay informed about weekly updates on ministry, events, worship details and more. Contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
